Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
'Shed' will mean many differnt things to different people. It offers an escape from the enforced solitude, frustration and bordom of illness, the sudden change brought on by retirement, breivement or any other or life's twists and turns. It gives a platform for those that want to give back too and provides the environments and social interaction to help re-inject some motivation and add a little magic into your week while you work on your own projects, help others with theirs, or even get involved with some exciting community projects too!
We welcome these by the way, so keep the ideas coming, the sky is the limit!
Better Shed than Dead
Who We Are
A Distinct Identity
Here at Westbury Shed, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all.
Above all, Westbury Shed is what we make it:
A gathering place for people of purpose. And others.
Usually involving a work space. For those who don’t have one or have had to give theirs up.
A place to change the world. Definitely.
A helping hand. You bet.
What We Do
Helping The Community
Westbury Shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where we can feel at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. Westbury Shed offers this to a group of people where members share the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing, at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. They are places of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction.
Reinforcing our Commitment
A place of leisure where we come together to work and undertake social activities. Whichever activities are pursued the essence of a Shed is the network of relationships between the members.
